I. About HQU

Established in 1960, Huaqiao University (HQU) is one of China’s renowned institutions of higher education. With its two campuses strategically located in two famous hometowns of overseas Chinese, Xiamen and Quanzhou in Fujian province, HQU is a national key comprehensive university directly affiliated to the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

Consisting of a graduate school, 31 colleges and 140 research institutes and centers, the university offers 21 doctoral programs, 111 master's programs, 20 professional master's programs and 94 undergraduate programs. The university covers 12 discipline categories, namely Philosophy, Economics, Law, Education, Literature, History, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Management and Arts, forming a coordinately developed discipline system that integrates arts with science, combines science with engineering and couples engineering with management. Currently, HQU boasts 41 national, ministerial and provincial key disciplines. With 4,627 overseas students from over 50 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, HQU has become one of the universities with the largest number of overseas students in China. III. Qualifications

3.1 Applicants shall complete their postdoctoral research, or graduate with a doctorate, and shall not exceed 32 years old by June 30th of the same academic year (Age calculated in the same way hereinafter). Postdoctoral scholars who have been admitted to a 5-year undergraduate program shall be no more than 33 years old.

3.2 Applicants shall be full professors under the age of 45, or associate professors with a doctorate who are under the age of 40.

3.3 In special disciplines that focus more on practical skills (Music, Dance, Arts, Sports Science, etc.), applicants with a master’s degree may also be accepted, and Project Management regulations shall be applied to them once employed.

3+X	Once long-term contracts are signed, settling-in allowances and housing subsidies shall be granted in accordance with the university policy for recruited associate professors with doctorate of the same year.			12	10	8
Foreign Teachers	Foreign teachers’ benefits are negotiable according to one’s research findings, circumstances, and the corresponding position hired.

4.1 Excellent-Rated Doctorate Program

Within the age limit, fresh doctoral graduates or doctorates who went into postdoctoral research station right after graduation can apply for acknowledgement of excellent-rated doctorate from college or institute if they meet one of the following qualifications.

4.1.1 Applicants graduate with a doctoral degree at prestigious international universities (either top-200 universities or universities with top-100 disciplines according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings).

4.1.2 Applicants graduate with a doctoral degree at Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Science, or Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and a bachelor's degree at a 211-project university.

4.1.3 To apply for (1) a position in science or engineering, the applicants shall have hosted national research projects, or have published quality academic papers on SCI journals; (2) a position in materials science or chemistry, publications shall be at least 1 academic paper in the journals of Nature or Science publishing groups, or at least 3 academic papers in world-acknowledged top journals with impact factors (IF) over 10, such as Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Advanced Materials; (3) positions in chemical engineering, environmental science and biology, at least 3 academic papers on top SCI journals are required; or physics, optics, medical science, and mathematics positions, at least 2 academic papers in top SCI journals are required; (4) positions in other disciplines, at least 1 academic paper on top SCI journals is required; (5) positions in humanities and social sciences, experiences in hosting ministerial or provincial key projects are required, or 1 academic paper in journals at the first-A level or 2 papers at the first level in HQU’s classification of academic papers are required.

4.1.4 Applicants have accomplished prominent research achievements acknowledged by the particular discipline.

4.2 3+X Employment Term Management

For some colleges/institutes, disciplines with more advanced development, and research teams of higher capacities, 3+X management in the form of trial contract + long-term contract shall be applied to the new recruits. Those newly recruited shall, besides the same benefits as the employees of the same level, be entitled to an extra monthly subsidy of 1,500 CNY and generous scientific research allowances.

4.3 Temporary housing (or rent subsidies) shall be provided according to school policies.

V. Applying Procedures

5.1 Applicants shall file application materials through the talents recruitment system

Please visit http://zp.hqu.edu.cn and enter Teaching and Scientific Research Personnel Recruitment module. Then register, fill in the resume, apply for a post, and submit the application. (Search reports of researching finds recorded in the three major indexes shall be included.)

5.2 College assessment (accommodation provided and one-way economic class ticket reimbursed)

5.2.1 Applicants who pass the preliminary inspection shall be notified to attend an interview via email or phone.

5.2.2 Interviews shall consist of 2 parts: a teaching demonstration and an academic oral defense.

(1) Teaching demonstration: Applicants shall present a teaching demo of the undergraduate course applied.

(2) Academic oral defense: Applicants shall introduce their representative academic achievements, their knowledge in academic frontier and a three-year research plan, and answer questions asked by the interview assessment panel.

5.3 Psychological tests and physical examinations.

5.4 Applicants approved by the college/school recruitment panel shall be reported to the university recruitment panel for further inspections.

5.5 Applicants approved by the university shall be notified by the Personnel Department for contract signing.
